Persistent Materialities is an online curatorial project that explores the former Freixo Thermoelectric Power Plant as a landscape in transformation. Bringing together artistic works, workshop outcomes, and curatorial reflections, the exhibition focuses on the material layers of the site, where architecture, vegetation, and human presence coexist and continuously reshape the space.
Rather than framing the site through preservation or demolition, the project shifts attention to its present condition, embracing processes of decay, regeneration, and change.Through this lens, the exhibition invites new ways of reading and engaging with ruins as active, evolving environments.
