The text presents an artistic research developed within Persistent Materialities, focusing on the ruins of the Freixo Thermoelectric Power Station. Instead of treating the site through fixed narratives of preservation or redevelopment, it approaches it as a constantly changing and layered landscape.
Through photographic collages, the project constructs a non-linear reading of the site, combining fragments, archives, and traces to reveal overlapping temporalities. These images do not aim to reconstruct a single history, but to express the ongoing processes of decay, transformation, and re-signification.
In this sense, the work proposes a way of engaging with ruins as dynamic and open-ended spaces, where memory, materiality, and change coexist.
