Aqui Ninguém Fica Mal Sozinho (No One Feels Bad Alone Here)
was an exhibition of the artist Bianca Stanea that explored the everyday life of Porto’s ilhas, a distinctive form of housing hidden within the city’s interior blocks. Through an intimate and attentive approach, it reveals modes of living shaped by proximity, shared spaces, and strong community ties. Rather than simply documenting these places, the project brings forward personal stories, affects, and tensions that define life within the ilhas, where coexistence is both supportive and complex.
By focusing on lived experience, the exhibition invites a reading of the city from within, highlighting ways of life that persist and adapt amid ongoing urban transformation.
